For anyone who is considering Bali villas as a holiday option, you will be joining thousands of others who have done likewise.
The benefits of living in a Bali villa versus a hotel are considerable and once you have done so, it is likely you will never consider any other way of holidaying in Bali.
Whilst planning a holiday, you will doubtless consider fun events such as what sights you are going to visit and what activities you might participate in, but there are some more serious matters to think about.
At the top of that list is to consider the health and wellbeing of both yourself and those travelling with you to Bali, be that your family or your friends.
Travelling overseas, whether that be to Bali or any other country around the world, brings specific concerns and that includes health concerns.
Whilst at home you will be well versed on these matters, even if that is something as simple as knowing which medical service you should call if one of your family becomes seriously ill.
However, when overseas, matters such as that are not always apparent to holidaymakers.
In addition, you will always find that for each country there will be advice from health professionals and authorities that refer to some things that you should avoid, to protect your health and wellbeing.
Examples of this will relate to specifics such as water, food, areas to avoid, and local laws.
It stands to reason that if you are aware of these, you will be better prepared and forewarned as to what are and what are not safe activities in the country you are visiting.
To help facilitate that if you are going to have a holiday in a Bali villa, below we have listed some “don’ts” aka things to avoid when you are in Bali.
Don’t Attempt To Take Illegal Drugs Into Bali
We are sure this goes without saying to almost everyone who reads this, but just in case, and to make it doubly and emphatically clear, you must not attempt to take illegal drugs into Bali.
Apart from the harm that drugs do to your health, there is an even graver risk that, given the legal penalties for drug crimes in Bali, there is a real possibility of you facing the death penalty if you are convicted. Read that again…the death penalty.
Don’t Buy Drugs In Bali
Further to the first ‘don’t’ we urge you not to try to buy or consume drugs when in Bali. It is almost certain that at some point during your holiday you will be offered drugs, as tourists in Bali attract drug dealers like magnets.
However, apart from the risk of arrest for possession, there is further risk to your health because you have absolutely no way of knowing what any drug or substance you buy consists of.
Don’t Drink Tap Water
Unless you wish to spend half your holiday sitting on ‘the throne’ we strongly advise you not to drink tap water in Bali.
Unfortunately, Bali does not yet have water facilities that can ensure that it is free of bacteria and other nasties, so whilst it might be okay for washing, it most certainly is not for drinking.
Further to this, we suggest that do not have ice in your drinks as often this is made from tap water.
